🧨2 Min Read: Before You Fall Hard, Check the 7 C’s
Updated: Aug 31
You ever like somebody so much you start grading the connection on a curve? 😭One great date. A few late-night talks. Chemistry doing absolute numbers. Now you’re smiling at your phone like, “Nah… this THE ONE.”
Maybe.
Or maybe attraction has been carrying the whole group project. 😂
Because chemistry can feel like compatibility. Chaos can feel like passion. And feelings have a bad habit of getting six chapters ahead of the facts.
So before you start calling it love, destiny, or “my person”…
Ask the uncomfortable question:
What is actually holding this connection together? 👀
In this 2-minute read, well talk about the 7 C’s — and no, we’re not talking about the oceans. 🌊 And as corny as it may sound, it'll save you alot of headaches!
By the end, you might realize the thing keeping you hooked isn’t the thing you thought it was.
1. Chemistry (The Spark Is Not the Structure)
Chemistry is the pull. The attraction. The tension. The reason you keep checking your phone like the answer changed in the last 45 seconds. It matters.
But chemistry can make a bad fit look unusually convincing.
You can have incredible chemistry with someone who is inconsistent, unavailable, or completely wrong for you.
Chemistry says: I want you.
The rest of the C’s determine whether wanting them actually makes sense.
2. Relationship Compatibility (Do Your Lives Actually Fit?)
You can laugh together, have great sex, like the same music, and still want completely different relationships.
Compatibility lives in the less exciting stuff:
Values. Lifestyle. Goals. Communication. Family. Commitment. Expectations.
Nobody leaves a first date yelling: “OUR LONG-TERM VALUES ARE ALIGNED!”
But eventually, that matters more than whether you both love tacos.
Enjoying someone does not automatically mean you can build with them.
3. Connection (Closeness Can Feel Like Progress)
Maybe you talk for hours. You tell each other everything.
You know their childhood stories, their weird family drama, and why they hate their middle name. That is connection.

But emotional closeness can grow faster than the relationship itself.
You can feel deeply connected and still have no idea what you are doing.
Feeling close is not the same as moving forward.
4. Character (Everybody Is Nice on Date Three)
Early dating is basically a public relations campaign.
Everyone smells good. Everyone communicates. Everyone says they value honesty.
Character starts showing up when things stop being convenient.
Watch how they handle disappointment.
Boundaries. Conflict. Accountability. Apologies.
Anybody can be charming when they are getting what they want.
5. Communication (Texting All Day Is Not the Same Thing)
“We talk every day.” Okay. But can you talk about the relationship?
Can you discuss expectations without somebody disappearing?
Can you bring up a concern without getting hit with:
“You’re overthinking.”
Can both people admit when something needs to change?
Communication is not just frequency. It is whether the two of you can handle conversations that actually matter. And avoiding those conversations?
That communicates something too.
6. Chaos (The High Might Be Coming From the Low)
This is where things get sneaky. They pull away. You get anxious. You replay conversations. Screenshots are sent. A committee is formed. Then they come back.
Suddenly they are affectionate again. And the relief feels incredible.
But sometimes the high feels so high because the low came first.
That does not automatically mean the connection is deep.
Sometimes you are becoming attached to the cycle of losing and regaining it.
Chaos can feel like passion when you are constantly trying to secure the connection.
7. Clarity (After All That… Do You Know Where You Stand?)
Now look at the whole thing.

The chemistry. The dates. The conversations. The effort. The conflict. The promises.
The disappearing. The reconnecting.
Do you actually know what this is?
Not what you hope. Not what they hinted. Not what your group chat thinks.
What has the pattern shown you? Are they consistent? Do their actions match their words? Is the connection progressing? Are you both investing?
Or are you still decoding it?
Healthy connections do not eliminate every question.
But over time, the major questions should start getting answered.
Repeated confusion is information.
The Pattern Matters More Than the Moment
People don’t fall for patterns. They fall for moments.
The date. The late-night talk. The apology. The “I miss you.”
But moments can mislead. One good moment shouldn’t erase what keeps happening.
That’s why the pattern matters.
The Prospect Perspective 👁️
Chemistry can pull you in. Connection can make you stay. Chaos can make it feel deeper than it is.
But clarity comes from watching what repeats.
The Prospect helps you step back and notice the patterns, signals, consistency, attraction, friction, and alignment underneath the feelings.
Because your feelings tell you how much you like them.
The pattern tells you what you’re actually dealing with.
So, Before you fall hard, check the 7 C’s.
